Initially I considered Chile due to its location in South America, an area to which I have always wanted to travel, and the extremely diverse climate resulting from the nation's North-South orientation.  After further research, I learned of the country's economy, politics, and culture, all of which interested me very much.  The more I read and saw of Chile, the more it seemed the place for me to be.  I will be adding information about these topics to the Blog section of this site as I learn more about them while in Chile.

 I will be abroad for one semester, roughly four months;  I leave August 24 and return on December 14.

Basically, I'll be taking two years of college-level Spanish in one semester, so that takes up fourteen credits.  I'll also be taking a course called Chile's Native Cultures from the North and a course which amounts to a five day tour of various cool places in Chile.  Overall I will be taking eighteen credits, not much different from my average semester at Tech.

 In short, I'm leaving that open.  I've heard that busses are cheap in Chile and will take you all over the country, if this is the case then you'll know about it as soon as I arrive and travel will take up much of my time.  Chile is known for it's wines, so I'm sure I'll be learning to enjoy them.  As I do things and figure out what things I'm doing I will update the Blog page to keep my readers happy.
